Information on these pages, are Suggestions Only. Create your center

Any way you want and then share your ways and ideas with other centers.

Page 26 to 38 below...

HOUSING ( Your ) COMMUNITY CENTER

NOTE: A Community Center can Start simply by Opening...

A Web site in your community...

A Community Center can be housed...

Simply to begin with... In someone's house...

In a neighborhood room or building... A basement or any other suitable space.

Centers can share space with an existing group that has similar goals...

Until such time that Your Community Center...

Has enough need and support to be independent Community Center.

A Center should grow... To serve the needs of the people who use the center...

With a kitchen ( if need be ) With healthy food cooking on the stove.

The center should have restrooms...

And easy access for physically challenged volunteers.

The center can be housed most anywhere...

Centrally located in the community...

For the people it serves.

It should have a...

Drop in anytime... Open door policy.

Within its walls should be... a Web Site...

Telephone and a filling system, computerized or not.

The filing system and center's organization... Need not be complicated.

Once a center is open...

The centers need caring people... To staff Your Community Center.

Community Center will need volunteers of all kinds...

To answer the phones... Connecting people...

Who need information, services, goods or whatever...

With people who can provide such information, services, goods or whatever.

Page 27

Community Centers can be...

Your place to gather for all kinds of activities.

A place to make connections to all kinds of community events and work projects.

A place to have fun working together...

Mixing and meeting, men, women, children... The young and elderly in your area.

And also connecting... With others centers and people... Around the world.

Centers can be a place to build...

Earth friendly abodes.

Carpenters and other neighborhood volunteers...

Interested in building or reclaiming homes, housing projects...

Parks, businesses, towns, cities and countries...

Can use the center as a place to gather.

Centers can be a place to learn how to protect forests, deserts, oceans...

Lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands... And all parts of our earth community.

Centers can be a place for people to share...

Ideas, life experiences, information and material goods.

Centers are a gathering place... In the center of Your community...

To do work that will improve the lives of all people.

Work projects at Community Centers...

Are a way for people to introduce each other through helping others.

Connections between people can be made and...

Projects can be fun for the volunteers.

The centers can be a community place to rejoice and help each other out.

A time... To share ideas, food, dance... And to enjoy each other's doings.

Centers should have a central number to call...

And/or...

Be... The place to go...

To get in touch with... Any thing... Any group... Any where... Any time.

Thus... Your centrally located...

Community... Connection... Center.

Page 28

COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN

Community Centers... Your Community... and Volunteers.

Is... Another Basic Ingredient of a Community Center.

Note: A Community web site...

Will help solve a lot of the situations below...

The center can start... And open its doors with a telephone...

Set up to receive incoming calls only... ( to keep expenses down ).

When outgoing calls, to answer questions or requests, are made from the center...

They can be made using... collect calls.

This eliminates a major cost until the center has enough support...

To make full telephone service possible.

Like all community based business, groups and individuals...

Local telephone companies ought to be contacted for donated, community support...

In the form of equipment or service.

People answering the phone should be caring individuals skilled in answering questions...

Or know how to refer questions to the appropriate source to answer questions.

Volunteers at a center...

Should also have a working knowledge of the filing system.

The filing system will fill up as questions and requests are asked or researched...

And/or answered...

And material goods and request for those goods, are filed.

There are many forms of communication available that can be introduced...

To connect volunteers... And centers.

Some include...

The Inter Net... Your Community Center... web sites

Twenty four hour Community... television coverage.

A.M. and F.M. radio, short wave radio frequencies.

Telecommunications, fax systems, and satellite systems.

These community and world communication systems will allow people at home...

Or shut ins...

To have access to... Around the clock coverage...

Of local, regional and continental happenings...

Within... Your local center and with centers around the world.

This coverage will also allow people to...

Put in... Or... Take out information...

They have need of... or... Information they have to give.

This gives even more people an opportunity...

To Help and/or Be Helped...

And Share most everything... From their home...

Using their Community Centers... Out Reach Connections.

Page 29

the FILING SYSTEM... for Your Community Centers.

Another... Basic Ingredient of a Community Center.

A filing system, computerized, made up in shoes boxes...

Or folders can be used... For each category... filed at a center..

In the filing system goes...

People, places, things, volunteers, agencies, material goods and skills.

And whatever else the community wants.

The filing system should be set up for easy access...

For those who answer the centers, information referral and requests, telephone calls.

There is no one correct filing systems.

The filing system can be computerized if need be.

The filing system ought to be set up by the people using it...

And they should determine what the filing system should do.

The filing system should also include people, their interests and skills...

What they are in need of... What they have to give or share...

And items they have that can be repaired or recycled.

The function of the center's filing system is...

To make the connection between...

People, ideas, places and things...

In the, most efficient manner possible.

Examples of information...

In a Community Centers filing systems.

I've got a refrigerator, seven chairs, a toaster, five cabbages...

And two rolls of roofing paper that I no longer need.

I have some land available for someone who has none.

I have a city building that can be used for a Community Center...

I have a new idea for a community food exchange...

A homeless persons, shared shelter, exchange...

Or whatever.

I have a house I only use occasionally to share.

My garage could be turned into a small apartment for a homeless person.

Our house has space and love for a orphaned child or homeless person from anywhere.

Page 30

I am renovating my home and could use help putting on the roof...

I will exchange your time helping me...

With some things I no longer need or can be used again.

We also have a chair, some chickens and a box of low energy light bulbs to share.

And... Our Community Center...

Is ready to put up food for the winter from locally grown crops...

To eliminate local and global hunger.

We need help canning, freezing, storing... And pickling.

We also need storage space and delivery personnel.

This list goes into the filing system...

So when someone calls and says,

I need any one of these things or I have time to volunteer.

The volunteers staffing the center...

Checks the filing system and match up the suppliers...

With the people who are in need... And/or volunteers to do something.

An unemployed or under employed...

Person is looking for work.

The kind of work he or she is looking for...

Goes into the filing system.

Some of the things an unemployed person needs to sustain life...

May be located in other parts of the filing system.

In other words...

Peoples employment needs and offers to help...

Should be put in to the filing system...

And when needed..

The connections can be located and made, using the filing system.

The results could be that the unemployed or under employed person...

Only needs... Part time... Cash money work.

Examples of Information in a...

Regional or Continental... Community Center

FILING SYSTEM

Question: Help Wanted...

We need housing, teachers, laborers, trades people...

Health care, food growing equipment...

And educational support systems... To help 1,750,000 people get organized.

Page 31

Answer from a Community Center...

Some where on earth.

Answer:

Help is On Hand... And in " standby " mode.

Our area is pretty well off this year...

We have teachers, health care personnel and volunteers...

Available to work elsewhere.

A country's defensive posture is such that they have available...

Fighter aircraft also known as... Hunger fighters.

That can be used, to drop in... Food supplies...

That are needed immediately.

Another countries army has cargo planes available...

To assist with transporting building materials, home building battalions...

Food growing equipment, Community Center volunteers, trades people...

Laborers and teachers for helping 1,950,000 people.

Help Needed... Request...

 From another... Community Center somewhere.

We had little rain during the last growing season...

Our area does not have enough food to last through the winter.

Answer... From a Community Center...

Somewhere Else.

Our area was blessed with rain and sun.

We will be conserving food individually and together...

So that we can send your area our surplus.

The following year the situation could be reversed...

And the help can be returned... Or recycled.

All this and more can be done through the...

Local, regional and continental world network...

Of Community Centers...

And volunteers using their filing systems.

All Center volunteers... Around the world should always be in a...

" standby mode "

Ready to help others locally, regionally and around the planet...

At a moments notice.

Page 32

CONTRIBUTIONS OF MONEY OR MATERIALS

Community Centers ought to be self supporting...

With no dues or fees for services rendered.

Community Center expenses ought to be kept to a minimum...

And can be offset by bartering, exchanging donations of time, money and materials...

By both, those helping... And those, being helped.

Each Community Center should never endorse, finance or lend the center name...

To any related facility or outside enterprise...

Lest, problems, of money, property or prestige divert the centers...

And or volunteers...

From the primary purpose of helping others.

All center's new ideas, reports, documentation about projects...

Financial books and records ought to be maintained with an...

"Open Book"

Policy. For anyone to examine... Anytime...

And also available to share with other centers around the world.

Community Centers should also have a...

"No Secrets"

Policy

Because... Secrets are the Great Enemy...

Of Community, Centers, Democracies and Love.

Paying bills in advance is a good way to eliminate...

Keeping cash on the premises of Community Centers.

No cash ought to be kept in the center to eliminate the temptation of...

"unauthorized borrowing".

A treasurer should be voted in for short periods of time

To oversee the open books of all centers.

Fund raising events such as bake sales, community farmers markets, arts and crafts...

Dances, events of all kinds, community meals, non professional spots, etc...

Are encouraged.

Centers should operate on a many small donation...

As opposed to a few large donations policy.

A person helping another person through a center...

May not get helped in return directly from... The person whom they helped.

It may be that the help, returned... Will come in another form.

From someone not yet met...

In another field of endeavor... Or in ways that the person who helped out...

Never imagined... When he or she originally got involved...

With the Center... And helping others.

Page 33

In other words...

What goes around... Comes around.

And can have a ( Great ) positive effect on humanity.

Using the Community Center networks... For helping each other...

As the connecting place.

Anyone who wants to...

Can open a Community Center... Anywhere.

This includes students of any age... Local and world known music groups...

Towns, villages, cities, tribes... Foundations... Individuals or others.

These individuals or groups who have space to share...

Volunteers on hand... Can get people together...

And hold events to gather resources or make and receive...

Donations to start Your...

Neighborhood Community Centers.

Donations of all kinds... Will help eliminate the initial down payment for...

Telephones, Setting up a filing systems etc...

And a home base of operations.

Eventually a center will have enough people involved...

To maintain and support itself.

Donations of land, buildings...

Material goods and supplies.

For rebuilding individual lives and communities...

Should be accepted at a center... Only if... They have no strings attached...

And a... One for All... All for One... Attitude...

And do not effect or influence the decision making process...

Or the overseeing of Your Community Center.

Individual companies, non profit organizations or businesses of any kind...

Who find themselves getting customers, promotion of their group or making a profit...

From referrals, coming from any...

Community information referral and resource exchange Center

Should voluntarily contribute to the center's operational expenses.

And/or they can also donate or sponsor projects that are in progress...

And/or planned at Your Community Centers.

Page 34

No mandatory dues or fees should ever be demanded.

But... Groups and businesses can be approached for donations of any kind.

These donations from groups or businesses can be a big help...

Offsetting the... Desired... Small expenses...

Of maintaining a center.

Donations or volunteers should never influence the referral of information...

To any one company or group.

Centers should give out information on ( All ) subjects

To any person who inquires about ( Any ) subject.

Community Centers are not designed to take away from any businesses...

Or to eliminate using money as a means of exchanging goods.

Centers should be designed to help people and exchange goods...

In new ways.

Groups of people using the center should...

Form committees...

To find new ways for people to get wages...

From the help... Volunteers offer to perform...

Especially for the unemployed in a community.

Some people volunteering to help fix up each others homes, neighborhoods...

Garden plots, roads and bridges or businesses and infer structures of all kinds...

May not need to receive payment or any of the necessities of life for work performed.

However, those people who do need any or all of the necessities of life...

Should be paid or share goods, housing etc.

In new ways...

For the unemployed volunteers... Work performed.

A person looking for employment... Should also list the basic things...

That the money from a job would normally be spent on.

In the community centers, unemployment part of the filling system

Through sharing things including food, living space and material goods...

At the centers.

The amount of cash money needed for work performed can be reduced.

If there is a need... Hours Volunteered... Can be...

"Deposited" or "Credited"

To an individual's...

"Help Account"

Individuals helped can have hours...

"Withdrawn" or "Added"

To or from... His or her own...

"Help Received Account"

Page 35

Projects that help neighboring... Communities

Towns, cities, tribes and countries.

Can be put in town, city, tribe and countries...

"Help Given Accounts"

When needed... So they may be helped in return...

When/If... Needs arises...

Communities, towns, cities and countries...

"Help Received Account"

Can be maintained by the center...

NOTE:

Help... labor paid for... and volunteer hours... Ought to be mostly donated...

To keep expenses to a minimum.

When Communities stop keeping track of...

The above accounts...

When people and community sharing...

Is the way of life...

Our planet and Its people...

Should be in much better shape...

With very, very, very, very, very, few... Or...

No Wars...

At All.

(See Credit, Debit and Bartering Pg. 141 )

Page 36

With the exception of disrupting a meeting.
